Collective savings and citizen fight against floods in Dakar, Wednesday 12 April
Recurrent flooding is a major risk in Dakar and particularly in its suburbs. For years, many projects have been implemented to prevent this risk and reduce its impacts.
On 12 April 2023, urbaMonde and urbaSEN will present the mobilisation of community savings as a means of involving residents in the fight against floods and the improvement of housing in the suburbs of Dakar.
This session will present the innovative forms of citizen participation developed at all stages of the PING-GIRI project, implemented by the urbaMonde, urbaSEN and GRET consortium and financed by AFD: risk diagnosis, co-design of works, worksite monitoring, co-financing and management of collective works.

Invitation au webinaire UrbaMonde & UrbaSen : Epargne collective et lutte citoyenne contre les inondations à Dakar, mercredi 12 avril
Les inondations récurrentes constituent un risque majeur à Dakar et en particulier dans sa banlieue. Depuis des années, de nombreux projets sont mis en œuvre pour la prévention de ce risque et la réduction de ses impacts.
Le 12 avril 2023, urbaMonde et urbaSEN vous présenteront la mobilisation de l’épargne communautaire comme support de participation habitante dans la lutte contre les inondations et l’amélioration de l’habitat en banlieue de Dakar.
Cette séance présentera les formes innovantes de participation habitante développées à toutes les étapes du projet PING-GIRI, mis en œuvre par le groupement urbaMonde, urbaSEN et le Gret, et financé par l’AFD : diagnostic du risque, co-conception des ouvrages, suivi des chantiers, cofinancement et gestion des ouvrages collectifs.
